Find a great deal on Trans Am For Sale at LemonFree.com Cars

Q: Does anyone know where i might find a good used 1978 black Pontiac Trans Am for sale?
I am looking for a good used Black 1977 or ‘78 Pontiac Trans Am for sale, Preferably in or near Kentucky. the price does not matter but I would like to find one between 12,000 and 7,000 if that’s possible.

help is appreciated, and thanks

A: My suggestion would be craigslist. You could probably find a good one or a broken down one and use the extra money to fix the latter.
It’s not impossible to get a good one for under $12k.

Q: Where can I find a 1982 Trans Am for sale?
I don’t have room for anything right now, so if you are looking to sell one, sorry, but I won’t be able to buy it. I would like to know any websites that sell them, so when I am ready I will be able to find one.

A: Try:

http://www.craigslist.org

They seem to have everything on that site!

Q: Does anyone have a 1978 Pontiac trans am for sale in western US?
I prefer the black and gold variety, but anything will do

A: go to:
autotrader.com
ebay motors
collectorcartrader.com

Q: where can I find trans ams for sale in the Los Angeles area?
I wanna buy either a 1999-2002 Trans am in or near the Los Angeles area.

A: You must not be looking very hard–the daily newspaper, used car lots, eBay, Craigslist…

Q: anyone have a 1982 Trans am for sale?
I want tomake a K.I.T.T replica thanks for your answers

A: we have a wholesale shop
how many do u want

thanx

Q: Why did Camaro and Trans Ams sales slip, compared to the Mustang?
How did the Camaro and Trans Am’s sales fall so low that GM cut production?

For about the same price as the Mustang, the Camaro and Trans Am were always a bit more powerful. (Even the 1999-2004 Mustangs only had a 190 HP V6 and the a 260 HP V8, While 1998-2002 Camaros and Firebirds had a 200 HP V6 and a 305 HP V8 engine. Still the 2007 Mustang GT falls short of 5 HP than the 1998-2002 Camaro, which is several years older).

Mustang enthusiast had to buy the more expensive Mustang Cobra to have comparable times to the base Camaro z28 and Trans Am.

With the Camaros and Trans Ams being more powerful, how is it that they’re production numbers fell?

A: For one thing, some corrections are in order.

The question shoud be phrased with “Firebird” not “Trans Am” because that was what the base model was.

Additionally, you claim the Mustang was available with up to 260hp, but then you mention the Cobra. Why do you make that distinction, yet you don’t make it for the WS6/SS packages? You’re not comparing apples to apples, especially considering the Z/28 and Trans Am’s base engine was around 285hp. This can also be argued when you point out the older Camaro makes more than the current GT. What about the Shelby GT? GT500? GT500KR?

The F-bodies sold in combined numbers that were not equal to the Mustang’s. Why was that?

For one thing, the Mustang’s core buyers were women. The Mustang was not overstyled like the F-bodies, so visibility was better, ingress/egress was better, and it was just a more comfortable car.

Meanwhile, the F-bodies were clearly targeted to men. And when they got that insurance bill, they often decided to get another vehicle – in many cases, pickup trucks with RWD.

The plant in Canada that built these cars were better utilized to building cars were GM could make a decent profit, which was very important because GM was not in great shape at the time. Blaming bean counters is not telling the whole story, and I don’t blame GM for getting rid of the cars – they just didn’t have the resources to redesign them, especially considering they needed to sell a certain amount that just wasn’t happening. But time heals wounds, and we all know the Camaro is coming back.

Horsepower is not the clincher in the sales wars. The F-bodies were difficult cars for a large percentage of auto buyers, and their needs were better met by the Mustang or smaller, more practical sport coupes.

Q: Does anyone know where I can find a 79 Trans Am driver-side door for sale?
I am about to buy a 1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am but the driver-side door on it is all rusty. Does anyone know where I can buy one, internet or otherwise? Would I only have to buy an outer door shell?

A: try www.car-part.com great site for junkyards all over the u.s.

Q: Pontiac Trans Am Question?
I found a 1986 trans am for sale with about 164000 miles on it it looks to be in babied condition and there selling it for about 1800 i was wondering if i would have to worry about this car breaking down alot of haveing to do alot of mechanical maintanence for this car to keep running and when i should be expecting this cars engine to done for good?

If your wondering the engine in its a 5.0L V8 4BBL

A: run a dianostic on the engine see what you have from that perspective

Q: 91 firebird head light vs an 87 trans am headlight?
I have a 91 firebird. It was my first sports car & first love. A few years back I cracked it up real bad and It has been sitting in my yard. A few months ago I found a 87 trans am for sale and I bought it with out the transmission or engine for cheep. The body is in real good shape. I planed on fixing the 91 firebird with the 87 trans Am, So I swapped the Trans Am suspension and body parts to the Firebird. Then I got to the head light on the driver side of the 91 fire bird, it has 4 wires that go to the light. The 87 Trans Am has a 3 prong plug that snaps in to the light. I need to use the Trans Am lights but am not sure what would happen if I were to splice the wires to the 3 prong plug. I would assume black goes to black, red to red, then I would be left with 2 yellow wires, I am not sure how to figure out which one to use other then process of elimination. Am I on the right track? Or should I just find a new light and place it in to the
“Head lights frame” and wire i like that?

A: Well common circuit is a 3 wire hookup that would consist of one common or ground wire and two hot wires bec the bulb is a dual bulb and has to levels high beam and low beam.So yes if a 4 wire hook up it make sense that if you connected the common to both wires that allow the bulbs to both work.
Simple test is try running wires to the dual bulbs and battery and see what wires are what or use a 12volt light test probe on the circuits.Plus due to the switchable source being a 12volts positive feed the ground wires shouldn’t make any difference if two or 4 ground wires are being used.

Hope that helps and best of luck.By the way yes your on the right track.

.

Q: V6 Firebird with 140,000 miles or V8 Trans am with 220,000 miles?
So i drive a white 1998 Pontiac Firebird. Its a V6 and has 140,000 miles on it. I found a 1998 Pontiac Trans Am for sale and its a V8 and has 220,000 miles on it. The Trans Am’s asking price is 5,390. Should i trade in my car and then try to buy the Trans Am? and if so how much should i try to talk them down to? and how much should i try to get for my car, the Trans Am is in good condition as is my car neither have any major damage just some paint chipping off and that kind of stuff

A: The V8 will always be much more durable.

The power gets dispersed out over a bigger number of pistons to take the load more evenly.

And power is much more solid then the V6

Thats a high price for a car thats 10 years old.(especially with a V6)

In good condition I would only look to spend $3000 , give or take $500

Q: I need to sale my car in Peoria Il what sites do I use ?
Black well mainted and clean Trans AM for sale

Its 97 model with V8 , 5.7 L , cruise control, kenwood after market stero system , T top and flow master exhuast

Auto matic with front new tires bought last year

need to sale urgently ( as my wife does not let me drive it for speed greater 100 m/h )

for 5850$ or your best offer

Its been mostly used on highways and has 107K miles on it

A: I wouldn’t use this. Go to craigslist and post there. You want to “sell” your car by the way.

Q: 1986 pontiac trans am?
1086 pontiac trans am.. theres one for sale in perfect condition… i dont know much about cars.. but i was wondering.. does it have a backseat? or is it just the 2 seats in front?

A: Yes the Trans Am has a back seats. It’ll have a one or two piece backrest that folds down for more cargo space. The bottoms are 2 seperate bucket bottoms, so they is only room for 2 small adults or 2 children.

The 82-02 Trans Am’s are Liftback 2+2’s
A style of coupe with a hatchback; this name is generally used when the opening area is very sloped (and is thus lifted up to open).
Cars called 2+2s tend to have:
only space for a maximum of 2 rear passengers rather than 3;
a more sporting nature than the average vehicle; coupe bodies;
two doors.

67-69 Firebirds are Coupe’s
70 1/2- 81 are Coupe 2+2’s
A 2-door, 4-seat car with a fixed roof. Its doors are often longer than those of an equivalent sedan and the rear passenger area smaller; the roof may also be low. In cases where the rear seats are very small and not intended for regular use it is called a 2+2 (pronounced “two plus two”). Originally, a coupé was required to have only one side window per side, but this consideration has not been used for many years.

Q: What is it about a 1986 Trans Am that people seem to want it. I have Mopar freaks trying to get this car?
The car is a 305 TPI Trans Am, 1986. I keep having people trying to get it but won’t tell me why! I have had one guy who thinks anything that does not say Mopar is not worth driving, but still drools all over my hood! WHY! And no it is not for sale.

A: No reason. Other than they probably think they can get it cheap?

Not like you can’t find a dozen more for sale.

Q: Car info pricing?
I am looking to sale my trans am what would be a good price for me to sale it fast it has 80k miles runs great auto

A: Since kbb.com doesn’t buy or sell vehicles, I would go to http://www.autotrader.com and see how much Trans Am’s are selling for in your area. You will want to compare yours to similar year, equipment, and mileage vehicles.

What year is the Trans Am? I hope this helps

Q: my and my friends want to buy a 79 trans am. it need a motor and trans . what kind would u put in it?
i found this car for sale ok and it needs a rebuild so my buddies and i wanna buy it and rebuild it. we need to buy a new motor and idk what kind to get. i want something that will turn this trans am into a beast. and its going to be a stik shift too. if you kno what kinda engine i should put in please let me kno thanks

A: NOT a 350.

Q: do you know where I can find a Honda Prelude for sale?
I want one with not alot of miles and not too expencive. I can’t find one anywere the one that I did find has already been sold!!!

A: Check out http://www.autotrader.com for lots of car listings. I sold my last car on that site!

Q: does anyone have a 1997 or newer honda prelude for sale that is in good condition?

A: maybe ebay or craigslist would be a better place to look

Q: Does anyone have a 1997-2001 honda prelude for sale? I live in virginia, DC area?
Please state year, price range and milage, just gimmie a basic idea of each

A: If you are interested in buying a car, but feel as though you simply do not have the money, a government car auction might be the best opportunity for you. You can find incredible deals, and it is not uncommon for people to save thousands of dollars. whether you’re in the market for a new automobile or not.

You’ll find that, at a government seized auto auction, there is a huge variety of automobiles available for you to bid on. The majority of vehicles at a government car auction have been repossessed from criminals or people who have failed to make payments on government loans. There are also government car auction vehicles that are “retired” police cruisers or other government vehicles that are no longer in service. You can usually find a wide range of makes and models,

Not many people know about government seized auto auctions, so there will not be a lot of competition for vehicles that you’re bidding on. There are so many different vehicles to choose from, you’re bound to find one that will become someone’s next dream car. Whether you want to buy a car to re-sell, or you’re looking for a car for yourself or a child, a government seized auto auction is the best place to look for an affordable used vehicle. Why waste time with a double-talking car dealer when you can go to a government seized auto auction, where you can buy a car 90% off Retail Value?

OK,You can check out http://www.purchaseusedcar.info/index.php?t=purused ,this site lists top 5 goverment car online auction sites for you to choose,It really is that easy.

Q: Does anyone have a 96 and up Honda Prelude for sale for $1000 and lives in Norcross, Ga?
if its not too much trouble i want the VTEC version

A: HAHA, that is funny, maybe a wreck with no engine for a grand. 96 + prelude will run 6K and up

Q: 90 honda prelude for sale?
do you think its worth buying for $500- it has 202,000 miles

A: the mileage isnt an issue, test drive it, listen for a clicking or clunking noise from the front wheels, if you hear that noise its probably a bad cv axle ($200-$400) for repairs. Ask when the timing belt was changed. If they dont know when you’ll want to replace that before too long ($700) to replaced, although if it breaks not only will you be stranded but the engine will more than likely be shot after that, check the tread on the tires, is the exhaust loud, how bad is the rust on the rear fenders (common spot for rust on honda) and does the engine sound smooth or does it run rough or make a ticking noise. it could be a deal, but it could also be a nightmare if it has a lot of problems

Q: Where could I find honda prelude door handles for sale besides Ebay?
I’m having a hard time finding them online. They sell door handles for Civics and Accords and CRX but not Preludes. Any help would be very appreciated! Thanks!

A: Try Craigslist.org, or go to honda.com and look under their parts search. It should take you to the nearest place that sells em.

Q: Red 1992 Honda Prelude Si For Sale – any Offer?
i have a red 1992 honda prelude si for sale. I’m in Dallas Texas area. if you would like more info please leave your email and i’ll send you photos of it. wifey want’s the SUV !!.
It comes with 4 18 inch nichi rims and tires. i’ll also give four 17 inch factory aluminum wheels and tires. also have high performance intake, but i took it off, wifey said it’s too loud! that also comes with a car. there’s more to list so leave your email and i’ll reply with infos and photos. thank you.

A: $500.00
Going once, twice, SOLD!! to the gentleman with the e-mail bliden@yahoo.com…

Well its worth a shot.

Q: 89 Honda Prelude Si For Sale?
It’s a 89 Prelude Si runs perfect. It is an automatic though. It has new distriputer cap, rotor button, plug wires, spark plugs. New inner and outer tyrods, all it needs is a powerstering pump because the old one leaks. I live in Kentucky and I am asking $1,000 for it and it is well worth it, if it was 5-speed I woudn’t even get rid of it. It has a set of 16″ trystar wheels on it and a flowmaster muffler. If you are interested send me a message.

A: This was my first car and I bought it for $1200 from a friend. I drove it until 243K (it had 120K when I bought it) and a lady rear ended me and totaled it. I loved that car. I would keep it man. If it’s my old one, definitely keep it! I put more wax inside that thing than a gay strip-club. Same exhaust that was annoying. Mine was carborated…horrible. But, I got $3600 from the insurance when they totaled it though….

Best deal ever!

Q: any used honda preludes for sale near south carolina??
i’ve been searching the internet and found a bunch actually but we’re looking for somebody that would be willing to let us make payments with them on it. if you know of any listings where the seller would be willing to please let me know!! thanks!

A: . Private people on the Internet won’t do that. Unless the car is stolen or has flood-damage, whatever.
Any Ford or Chevy car lot would love to get rid of their Hondas.
You got problems with Credit?

Q: Does anyone, in the Dallas area, have a 1997 -2001 Honda Prelude with automatic transmission for sale?
Possibly leather interior, but not mandatory.
I’ll give 10 points to whoever gives me a good lead.

A: Try the auto sites like Yahoo autos

Q: Why does the resale value on a Honda go down slowly???
For example I see a 1992 Honda Prelude for sale it’s worth $4,332 but it has 121,000 miles!

I see Hondas with over 135k miles and are at least 13 years old and are worth over $2,000! Why is that? do they last at least 200k miles or something?

Don’t you think it’s a little pricey?

A: Hondas do have a reputation for going 300k+ with no major repairs(maybe a trans, and a little bit of oil burning)

as long as they are properly maintained and not abused, they will last quite a while

Not only that, they are the best quality import made in the late 80’s through the 90’s and even now

The timing belt should be replaced every 90k, not 200k as stated above

Q: What would be faster? A Prelude or and H22 in a Honda Accord?
I saw a prelude for sale and i also contemplated about dropping a H22 in my accord. I really like my accord but preludes just look cool.

A: accord v6 > 5spd prelude. from a dig the accord will get smoked but from a roll the v6’s have power. And if you swap a 6spd into an accord v6 it’s not even a contest
example
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gsxOQbj7MVc
prelude is more modded than the accord

-and take into mind that this video is old. the mods that were on the cars during the video are in the comments

*in the end though, it all depends on how you mod either car and how much $ you’re willing to spend

Q: does anyone have a sunroof for 92 honda prelude that they want to sell?
i want to replace the sunroof on my 92 honda prelude. any of you have a sunroof for sale or any of you know anyone want to sell just the sunroof? thank you. Dallas Texas area.

A: try ebay

Q: 1995 honda prelude swapp motor..?
hello, i have a question. theres this 95 prelude for sale around my town, and the motor have been swapp to an H22. the original motor was an H23 and i was wondering if that is legit and ok for it to do so. i dont want to go to the DMV and or pulled over and they say that its not right or give me any problems with it. so therefore my question is. do the owner have to report to the dmv for swaping a motor to another one?.

and another thing. i want ppl’s oppionion about a 1995 prelude, really clean, fresh black paint, dropped on coils, and with i beilve gt3 rims. with a “fresh” H22 motor i believe its been rebuild. 100 miles on it barely. (im not sure if i can trust what the owner of the car say about wat i just described). but yeah. it looks very clean. idk if i should buy it or not. due to the swap motor. it has AC and PS as well.

A: I live and die by this motto: Never buy a modified car, it’s nothing but trouble waiting. If a car has been modified, especially with an engine swap like this one, there’s a good bet that the car has been driven extremely hard, probably raced and abused. That means there could be an ungodly number of problems waiting to pop out just around the corner. So, unless you just like a challenge, and want a project to work on, I would avoid this one and if you want an H22A Prelude, build it yourself. Then, the only person you can blame for the work, is yourself (or whoever you pay to do it).

Q: 1995 Honda Prelude squeaking question?
Hey Guys,

I went to go look at a 1995 Honda Prelude SE that was for sale. When I test drove it everytime I turned the wheel it would make a squeaking sound. My friend who was in the car with me commented on how he thought it was the power steering box. We pulled the car over to pop the hood and see if we could hear where the squeak was coming from. I sat in the car and turned the wheel and he looked. Well he happened to look under the car and saw a puddle of some fluid so I backed the car up and it was a clear transluscent color. I assumed it was transmission fluid but my friend said that he thought transmission fluid was also used by the power steering so it didnt mean the tranny was leaking.

Has anyone heard of this before? Any ideas as to what it is ?

Of course I decided that it wouldn’t be best to buy the car, yet, unless the owner fixed the problem but I would like to know if anyone can shed some light on this problem.

Thanks!
If what your saying is true would then how does the fluid come in to play?
Oh and also it makes the sound regardless of driving or not in fact at higher speeds you would be hard pressed to hear it squeak.

A: SOunds like a wheel bearing. Lift the car and support it with jack stands then turn the wheels turn each wheel with your hands and listen for unusual sounds you can also start the car and put it in drive while lifted That way you can spot the noise if it is only makin it while driving In that case it would be a drive train noise can be a CV axle or the transsmission

Find a great deal on Car For Sale at LemonFree.com Cars

Q: What forms does a used car dealer typically need for a sale in Illinois?
We’re getting ready to close our first car sale and I want to make sure I have my bases covered! What do I need to provide to the customer and state?

A: sales contract with taxes included.

and if they did not use their own cash, a copy of the financing document.

PERIOD.

Q: How much does a car dealer make per vehicle sale on average?
I know it’s more on used than new but how much for each? 15% profit on a new car sale and 30% off a used is my guess.

A: The profit margin on new cars has been getting smaller and smaller over the years. The manufactures do not want to raise the MSRP as much as they do the invoice cost, so the dealer is squeezed more each year.

There are also other costs to consider. The dealer has a physical location that he has to pay for (cost of buildings, utilities, maintenance). He also most likely has to borrow the money to pay for the cars that he has on the lot (this is called a floorplan). The manufacturer is paid for the car as soon as it is delivered to the dealer. Most dealers to not have the money to pay for 50-200 cars that they keep in stock, so they must borrow that money.

On a normal new vehicle (and this depends on market conditions, supply and demand) a dealer will be lucky to have a gross profit of $600. Used cars have a bit more profit, but they are closer to $900.

If there was 15% profit in each new car, and 30% in used cars, I would be a much richer person!

Q: Can you be honest and still be successful in car sale industry?
I am getting interviewed tomorrow by a car sale employer. I am willing to giving car sales a try, can anyone have experience in this field give me some guidance. I am a honest worker, i like to be direct with people. Will that make a bad combo for my job?

A: Sounds like you are a salesman. Bad salesmen lie; good salesmen offer help: engage people in a non-threatening way, and ask questions. They key to any good salesperson is to let your prostect feel comfortable, and talk to you, and this helps you solve their problems. Make sure you treat those people like gold – go the extra mile. They will feel like they found a diamond in an honest salesman, and refer everyone. In fact, you can tell them that you don’t want their business – you want their whole family’s business and their friends’ business too!

Car buyers today tend to be either very well studied and/or very skeptical, so let your candor and genuine nature to serve melt away their sense of concern. Make you customers feel like they are your friends and you are taking care of them, like a guest. My only caution is make sure you aren’t direct to the point you are pushy with people, but ensure you ask those questions, and then you can offer opinions with permission.

Hope that helps; sales success is a science/art. Takes practice to get your groove – Enjoy it!

Q: What’s the best way to collect money from a private car sale?
I just put my car up for sale, which could sell for as high as $20K. What the best way to receive the cash so I don’t get taken?

A: You can take cash, but do the transaction at a bank and deposit it so you don’t get robbed (by his friends) on the way home.

You can take a bank check BUT only if you go to the bank with the buyer, and see him draw the money (making sure the check is real). These days I can get a bank check for $5 face value, and photoshop it to $25,000 and print it up on my color printer and you would never know.
===
Also let the buyer know that you will be taking a photocopy of the buyer’s driver’s license as record. That alone will scare away most fake bank check writers.

Good Luck…

Q: How long do i need to hold onto money from a car sale in alabama before i can use the money?
I am about to sale a car(here in alabama) i’m selling it for my father-in-law (that lives in wisconsin)now when we both sign the title and he gives me the money,am i required to give this person a certain amount of time to change his mind, before i can cash the check? because once it is in the mail to wisconsin,i wont have that kind of money to return to the buyer. anyone that knows the law, that can help me out,i would surely appreciate it.

A: There is no right to cancellation for a private vehicle sale. The money is yours once the deal is done.

Q: What are the best online sites to advertise a car sale?
I am selling my car and want to advertise it online. I checked several sites, they usually charge aorund $40 for an ad with a photo. I don’t mind paying, but would like to choose the most prolific and most visited site. What are the most popular online car sites?

A: Craigslist for your city
www.craigslist.org

Q: Does anyone know of the CHEAP big car sale in South Florida?
Hi All,

Last year there was a big car sale in either Ft. Lauderdale or Miami. It is for cheap car sales (I think all are around $995). Might be a big dealer who holds the sale am not quite sure. I know the sale is only for a few days each year.

Any help would be great, thanks.

A: You mean the gimmick car sale where you can ‘get the best value of the year’?
It’s just that…a gimmick.

A car for $995 is going to be a big piece of garbage.
If a dealership is selling it for $995, it means they got it for basically nothing.

Q: What form of payment should I take for my car sale?
I am selling my car and recent scam with counterfeit cashiers checks worries me. When I close the deal, what form of payment should I accept to be sure?
what is an escrow account? sorry, I am just ignorant.

A: The counterfeit cashier’s check scam is an international scam.

Cashier’s checks are the most secure form of payment. Just make sure you get a cashier’s check from a local bank, and have your bank inspect the check before you transact.

Also make sure you SEE their drivers license, and the name and photo match. Write down the license number.

Otherwise, get cash.

Q: How do I cancell the retail installment car sale contract?
I had entered into a contract for purchase of car. I need to cancell the contract as the delivery will be delayed. Can I call the delearship can do a verbal cancellation or do I need to have something in writing from dealership

A: The contract would be normally legally binding and I am positive that they will try to hold you to it….but “possession” is as they say 3/4 of the law and you don’t have it due to this delay….I would ask them real and if they don’t cancel…..do to an Attorney and he will probably only charge you what $25 just to do a letter inquiring about the situation and hopefully try to avoid legal means to settle this….I am sure that they will concede and cancel the contract…….by the way…..tell your Insurance company not to issue any insurance on it and then they will be stuck if it goes that far…..they will without a doubt try the “hardball” route first so be ready with the “attorney” letter…..

Q: I need advice from a professional car sale person?
I am selling a 2002 hyundai with 150k miles with clean interior andd I want to trade it in for a 2000 honda civic with 170k miles. What should I say to the one selling the car, so he agrees to trade. I need to say something that will make that person agree.

A: Your car is two years newer and has 20k less miles on it. Drive home those points. You might book them out on the internet to see how they compare in price. If your car is worth more, bring that point up too. If not, avoid that issue.

Q: I sold my car this year and paid off the car loan on it. Should I pay taxes on the car sale proceeds ?
The car sale was less than the loan amount I paid off. I am working on y taxes for this year and was ot sure if I should declare this as a source of income and pay tax on it ?

A: You only pay taxes on the sale of a personal asset if you recognized a gain. In determining whether there was a gain or loss on the sale, you consider the amount that you paid for the car, not how much it cost you to pay off the loan (since the loan would also be comprised of unpaid interest, which would be nondeductible).

Q: how do i make a stable contract between a friend and i for a car sale?
my friend has a loan for a car which i am going to finish paying off. i need to know the type of contract to come up with that will cover us both in the event that one defaults. any site ideas would be helpful.

A: You don’t. If you leave the loan in her name, she has to provide insurance and will be responsible for anything that happens, not to mention that the lender wouldn’t allow it.

You need to find the pay off price on the vehicle, and get approved to get a loan for that amount and have everything transferred into your name.

Both of you need to talk to the lender.

She doesn’t need to be put into the position of a lender and/or repossession company.

Q: Why does the internet car sale call for higher price than?
the MSRP or estimated price indicated yahoo autos?

It’s not a couple of thousand dollars they overcharge but it’s like over USD $6000 for the exactly same model and option.

How should I negotiate the price with the dealer?

A: NEVER BUY ON-LINE, ITS JUST A RIP OFF AND A BAIT AND SWITCH, TRY THIS.

End of month is a great time to BUY your new car, but it is NOT the best time to make your first dealership visit. Salesmen do try harder to make sales at the end of the month, which is about the last five days of the calendar month.

In addition to the end of the month, there are better and worse times of the year to buy. Best time of the year to buy is the end of December, in most dealerships. Dealerships try to make specific quotas for end of month AND end of calendar year, and it is not a popular time to buy, so sales can slump seriously and they will try harder to make a sale, which means a better bargain. If you shy away from buying in the winter because of bad weather, think again: bad weather is when you WANT to be in the car, testing it’s foul weather capabilities.

Other good times of year to buy are end of August and end of September because the old models are taking up space on the dealership property, and they want to make room for the new models to come in. If your heart is not set on a brand new model, this is an excellent time to buy a perfectly good new car that happens to have been manufactured a few months earlier.

There is a very important BUT to this end of month advice: Do NOT make your very first visit to the dealership at the end of the month. Go to the dealership at the beginning or middle of the month, test drive the cars, get some info, then go home and give yourself two to three weeks to get the best financing. THEN go back at month’s end armed with full information and a buying plan. Give yourself a day or two extra in case the first dealership doesn’t work out and you need to go to another one. This is a big purchase, don’t try to do it all in an afternoon!

Q: Who must file or report use tax when a car sale is made by a independent buyer and seller?
I bought my used car from an independent seller in L.A. and I live in California. So I would need the latest use tax regulation for California that relates to this area of automobile commerce.
I’m asking this because even though I agreed with the seller that what I paid was the “full and complete” price, the DMV says I still owe taxes on the car. And no tax claims have been filed by the seller. So my question is who is really responsible for acquiring the tax for the car and who is responsible for physically giving the tax to the government? I know if taxes are required I must pay them, but shouldn’t the seller take care of the rest?

A: The buyer is required to pay the tax. If there is a difference in sales price, as opposed to fair market value, the Department of Revenue in Ca would require a statement from you that the car is valued less for “x” reason. If the reason is not exceptable, the Dept. of Rev will require you pay the tax based on the fair market value of the car. This situation occurs and is regulated because, people would go to the DMV, make a statement that they bought a 2003 Ford truck, for say, 500dollars, pay the tax on 500dollars and the state was losing huge amounts of tax revenue. We all know, that a 2003 truck would be valued much higher, but since the statement was made, there was nothing by law to stop this activity. So, the Dept of Revenue in most states, regulates the amount of sales/use tax, and determines what is a fair selling price for a vehicle, by using blue book values. Most states, or many, will not allow a vehicle to be gifted more than once, have determined that a vehicle is worth at least 200dollars for the engine alone, and will collect the tax based on value.

Q: where is the big car sale by 610 in houston texas this weekend?
I saw an advertisement on tv in houston and they are having a big inventory sale for no credit bad credit etc. its over by reliant stadium anyone hear of it and know where it is or how I can find it?

A: its probably lawerance marshall

also i forgot to say: the 610 loop is CLOSED this weekend so i recommend not going to the sale..traffic is horrible

Find a great deal on Autos For Sale at LemonFree.com Cars

Q: In a private auto sale who is responsible for the saftey and emissions inspections?
I am about to buy a car off a private party. Who is responsible for getting the car’s safety and emissions inspections done, the buyer or the seller? I would think the seller would do this to increase the odds of selling the car but is there a law (in Missouri) that says the car must be inspected before the sale? I know it needs to be inspected before registering.

Thanks for any input you all have.

A: The inspection should be an agreement between the buyer and seller. If the seller agrees to do it prior to the sale, then he should show proof of the inspection. If the buyer agrees to do it, then “Buyer beware,” and the auto is sold “as is.”

Q: I need a bill of sale for an international auto sale?
I sold my car to a dealership in Australia and I need a bill of sale that is more detailed than the general bill of sale between two parties because it is overseas and it is a classic car.

A: Then put whatever detail you’d like into the bill of sale, and give it to the buyer. Use a normal bill of sale as the jumping off point, and add to it.

Q: Does anyone know what they use to write on the windshields at auto sale lots and where I would buy it?
I’m trying to sell my truck and I bought “For Sale” signs but they don’t show up too well through the tinted glass.

A: shoe polish is hard to get off goto walmart by the car section they have window chalk thats what the calll it i think

Q: Where do I find autos for sale from private parties?

A: Ebay, Craigslist, Auto Trader, classifieds in local newspapers, etc.

Q: What is the best website to get a legal car contract to use for an auto sale?
Any sites that are legitimate and provide good contracts? Thank you!

A: If you mean a Bill of Sale, just write up one stating the date, the vehicle description, VIN number, mileage, sale price, names and signatures of buyer and seller.

If you are thinking about selling your car to someone and accepting payments, DON’T DO IT. There are hundreds of horror stories on this answer board of people who did it, and now regret it.

Q: Can you acquire a 14-day plate from a private auto sale, or are they only available with a dealer purchase?
I live in Maine and I’ve bought a Jeep in a private sale. Long story short, I won’t be able to get the title for 3 weeks. In order to register the vehicle, I need the title. Can I apply for one of those paper license plates or are they only available with a dealer purchase?
The woman I bought it from financed it through Key Bank. Key Bank sold out to a company in Florida. The reason I have to wait so long is because I’m paying $12000 for the Jeep, which she has to pay to the bank to pay off the loan. The bank will then send the title. This process is going to take 3 weeks.

A: It is the Maine BMV that issues vehicle registrations and titles in the state, as well as maintaining the official vehicle ownership and registration records in Maine.

Beyond establishing the legally registered owner during the sale of a vehicle, the Maine BMV also takes on the responsibility of regulating and issuing the decals, or tags, that prove that a Maine vehicle’s registration and paperwork are current. Registration renewals require proof of financial liability, most often in the form of adequate auto insurance.

Should you lose your Maine vehicle registration, you will need to file for a replacement through the ME BMV. Other special situations regarding vehicle registration are covered by the Maine Bureau of Motor Vehicles as well: how to register a salvaged car; how to register an imported car; how to renew your registration while in the military; and, how to register antique vehicles or farm equipment. These are just some of the services provided by the ME BMV.

How to Register Your Car in Maine Before you are able to legally drive a vehicle on the streets of Maine, your vehicle (whether it be a passenger car, commercial vehicle, trailer, motorcycle, or boat) must be registered through the ME BMV.
Car Insurance Another requirement to getting a vehicle legal in Maine, is that the owner and/or driver must provide proof of financial responsibility―in other words, car insurance, to the Bureau of Motor Vehicles.
Maine Title Transfers Both buyers and sellers of vehicles in the state of Maine have responsibilities to provide information to the Maine Bureau of Motor Vehicles before a proper title transfer documenting the change of ownership can be approved.

Q: how do i get a notary for a private auto sale?
this guy is letting me buy his car by making a payment every month until the car is payed off. how do we get a notary for this type of loan?

A: If you belong to a credit union, they will have a notary and it’s probably free.

Q: what are your rights with no cooling off period for an auto sale. I thought there was a 3 day fed. law?
I thought all auto sales were 3 days to change your mind. I can’t afford this car. Can I take it back the next day? I didn’t know about no cooling off period when i sign the contact.

A: door to door sales only offer a 3 day cooling off period; otherwise, you buy it, you own it

Q: in autos a sale as is clause is their any place saying that you can not get what you paid back for the auto if
they fail in giving you a clear title once you paid cash for it, recieved bill of sale pasted emmisions but the place salvation army has not produced the title, so if it is not their can one demand their money back, what chances do you have to get it back?

A: Well , you should’ve got a Title/ or a bill of sale… did it state they’d produce a title/ or that one would be mailed to you? if they sell you an inferior car yes you should be able to take it back even if it is “AS-IS” it must run and past any emissions… most states require that as part of sale…Title write down VIN # and go to local DMV to make sure seller had a right to sell it?? WOrd here is , Fraud.

Q: Can I cancel an auto sale if I signed the sale and loan papers but did not drive the car off the lot yet?
I signed paperwork at the dealer’s for a used car (in MA) but we took our “old” car home for the night to clean it out and left our “new” car in the dealer’s lot. Now I have buyer’s remorse. It’s a fine car, the dealer did not cheat me, but it’s not what I want. Can I get out of this deal? I did not put any money down.

A: Enjoy your new vehicle purchase. That’s what you wanted, right?

NO CAR RETURNS!

There is no federal law requiring a car dealer or a person selling a car to take a car back.

Let me repeat that – there is no federal law requiring a dealer or seller to take a car back – you don’t have 24 hours during which you can change your mind, you don’t have three days to reconsider – when you buy a car it becomes your property.

Avoid Buyer’s Remorse!

You can’t return a car – so avoid needing to return a car

Don’t Allow Yourself To Become a Victim of “Buyer’s Remorse!”

•Don’t sign any sales contracts, lease contracts or finance contracts unless you are 200% certain that you want to go through with the deal and buy the car.

•Don’t give any car dealer or private party a deposit on a car deal unless you are absolutely sure you are going to see the deal through to it’s final conclusion. A deposit is not a legal requirement. The seller wants the deposit so they can exert control. They want your money locked in before any “Buyer’s Remorse” can occur.

•The time to mull over the purchase is BEFORE you make the purchase. Take a day or two and sleep on the deal before you make your decision.

Q: For private party auto sale, who should pay for the mechanic’s inspection — buyer or seller?

A: The buyer, you are selling the vehicle as is, if the buyer wants peace of mind then let them pay to have a mechanic inspect it

Q: Asked to forward 10% of auto sales price to Yahoo Autos after contacting seller through autotrader?
Concerns: Trying to recognize if this is a scam. I’m Asked to authorize special power of attorney for purchase…. To wait 30 days for title, which is 20 days after payment in full. Provide 10% payment up front…This payment option offered after auto inquiry on autotrader. Can I forward the email proposal I received to you for review and authentication.

Thanks in advance for your support

A: yes its a scam

Q: looking for 75 thru 78 lincoln autos for sale?

A: check Hemmings Motor News, either on-line or at the local newstand. You might also contact the Lincoln and Continental Owners Club. The ‘77 through ’79s are quite popular. We have a beautiful ‘78, chamois coach roof over white with chamois velour interior.

Q: free webs for autos for sale by owner?
want to post a free ad

A: I have sold two cars and two motorcycles on Craig’s List. You will get instant responses there and it’s really easy to use. Just make sure you put a new ad up every couple days, because nobody looks past the first few days. Delete your old ads though!

Q: anteque autos for sale?

A: ebay

Q: Can anyone help my grandson find a transaxle for his truck?
My grandson plans on mounting a engine in the bed of his 1985 toyota pickup because he was more power and better weight distribution.I think it’s a crazy thing to do but I love him and it’s his truck so I’m going to help him by asking for help finding sites that sale heavy-duty manual transaxles that can handle up to 700hp/500 lbs of torque and will fit behind a big block chevy?I guess it has to be short epth that it and the motor fit into a toyota short bed.can anyone help me?
its a 2WD and it sits low to the gound. He never said it needed to be a manual I just thoough it would be easyer to find one if it was.other words it s ok if its a auto but i know he wants it BEHIND the engine not in front.

A: FOX,
Your grandson has demanded a ‘TALL ORDER’ There is no one manufacturing something that hasn’t been made yet. He’s got to come up with a plan and fabricate from there. Really,I think if you run 700hp you’re gonna need the whole rear to be re thought.
Before you look for axles you’ll need to decide on whose rear housing and what trans you are going to use.The only reason I responded to this question is nostalgic.
I put a 1972 -500 cubic inch Cadillac Eldorado engine, trans and Frame in the rear of a 1972 Vega station wagon and I almost killed me and half the people at the dragstrip one night.
He’s got a job ahead of him’but it can be done!!

                       “BRILLIANT”!!!!

Q: Why is the 1967 Mustang fastback so popular on ebay?
i see these nasty 1967 mustang fastbacks on ebay and i specifically saw one that had 18 bids and it was already up to $18,000 the car didnt even have an engine. why is this car such a popular project car?

I have a 1967 Mustang Coupe in great running condition for sale on ebay too haha

A: Cuz 67 fastbacks are so damn good looking.

Q: 1967 Gt500 Elanor Mustang ?
Okay so i was looking online for a mustang to buy .
I came across a ad that said 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback Eleanor GT500 Shelby for sale . The price is $5000 Can . I e-mailed the owner and she said shipping and handling is included in the cost . She only wants to make the deal through ebay . Does this seem like a scam ?

She says the car is in perfect shape and is a 6.7 liter v8
sorry i spelt it wrong eleanor

you never heard of them ? They are just like another brand of mustang , like roush or saleen etc .

http://media.photobucket.com/image/eleanor%20mustang/A_major_Gamer/Cars/eleanor_conv_01.jpg

A: SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! anytime the seller sells something way to good to be true it normally is. They always say there not around and on a work trip and shippings already paid for is so they will ship it to you. They wont give you the vin number or give you a false one, they wont let you see it cause its “locked” in a crate. Again SCAM!! stay away.

Also REPORT them to ebay and get there account banned.

Q: Where can i find a damaged 1967 mustang for sale cheap?
I don’t care how damaged just able to restore

A: Special interest magazine. Also, just so you know 67 Mustang and cheap do not go together.

Q: 1967 mustang for sale pic inside?
do you think this car is worth what they asking for? i found it on craigslist…i never use that site but since i am looking for an old muscle mustang..i decided to take a look and found this 1967 mustang which is not so far away from my area but i need more opinions on this car. http://mcallen.en.craigslist.org/cto/1611700593.html

A: it is over priced, especially since it doesn’t have many original features, such as the exhaust which you can plainly see. so for a face value its overprice by a good 7k. but if you don’t care about original features it is nice, but still overpriced.

Q: How much would it cost to repaint a 1967 Mustang?
I was looking at an 8 Cylinder 1967 Mustang for sale recently. It’s got one of those black vinyl tops (which looks fine). Right now it’s got the old yellow paint job which I’d need to strip and I’ll like to get red.
Maybe like this:

http://www.musclecarsociety.com/files/imagecache/muscle-cars/submitted/1967_mustang01_ec02_im.jpg

A: it varies and what type or kind of shop your planning on taking it too and what kind of quality you want done cheap or show car look.

Q: 1967 mustang for sale?
do you think 1967 Mustang Fairly new paint job, nice interior, engine is a 351 stroking a 408, 4.11 rear end, new mickey thompson drag tires, new alluminun weld racing rims, 400 miles on new engine, that “suppostly” never been ran on the track for $2,500 is good deal?
http://mcallen.en.craigslist.org/cto/1611700593.html
yeah, this is close to my area where i live but i just wanted to make sure what you all think about this 1967 mustang..is it worth what they asking for?
walter, thats exactly what i was thinking “too good to be true”
in the additional details u can actually see the pics of the car along with price -.- so u can see it for yourself ^^

A: Sounds like someone left off the final zero.

Q: 1967 Mustang for sale..pic inside?
do you think this mustang is worth what they asking for? this person selling this car lives close by my area..but i wanted more opinions on this car and what you think. I found it on craigslist…

http://mcallen.en.craigslist.org/cto/1611700593.html

A: It looks like it has a lot of money invested in it, he’s probably loosing money on it, but that’s up to you to go check it out and see if you want to spend that kind of money on a notch.. that’s the trouble with them, you can put more into them than they will ever be worth..

You might be able to find a decent fastback for that kind of money..

Q: any one have a 1967-1968 fastback mustang for sale?

A: www.ebay.com 27 cars from 1200 to 100,000

Q: 1967 Ford Mustang coupe on sale for $6000?
Is $6000 a good value for a 1967 Ford Mustang coupe? It has a 289 2 barrel V8, automatic tranny, power steering/brakes, it runs/drives great, body/interior are in good condition and it has flowmasters and new exhaust.

A: My first question as always is about rust. On a 67, check the floors under the carpet and under the car for rust. Also check under the carpet by the passengers feet, if it ever had a leaky heater core then some amount of rust will be there on the floor. Check out the trunk area (under the car and in the trunk) look at the METAL, if there is carpet in the trunk or a trunk mat, pull it up and look underneath. Check the frame rails for rust. Open both of the doors and look at the under side of the doors (where water would drain out) and see if there is any rust. The holes in the bottom of the doors often get clogged up with dirt/leaves, etc and do not allow the water to drain out causing the bottom of the doors to rust. The #1 area you want to check for rust is the cowl (the vented area between the windshield and the hood). Vintage mustangs were not properly protected in the cowl area. If the cowl is rusty it is a huge pain to replace the cowl. If you look at the car you can see all of the spot welds that would have to be drilled out to access the cowl, not fun. The easiest way to check if the cowl is leaky is to pour a cup of water into the cowl (between the windshield and the hood). Pour a cup on the drivers side of the cowl and see where it drains out. If the cowl is not rusted out then the water will drain out inside the fender and onto the ground. If the cowl is rusted the water will leak onto the interior floor boards (where your feet would sit if you were driving). Then pour a cup down the passenger side and check the same.

How is the paint? Be cautious if it is a “new” paint job. New paint jobs are often hiding a lot. Look closely all around the car for little bubbles in the paint (even if there is just one or two). Bubbles in the paint can mean that there is rust under that paint.

Pull the dipstick and see how the oil looks. Any seller with half a brain will have put fresh oil in it but check to make sure. Do the same with the tranny fluid. Tell the seller that you would like to take off a valve cover to see how it looks inside. Look to see if there is a lot of sludge built up on the rocker arms, push rods, and on the head itself. Take a peek at the coolant as well.

Does it have 4 wheel drum brakes? Drive at 40 or so and press the brakes like you are coming to a normal stop. While you are pressing the brakes, take your hands off the wheel. Keep your hands right next to the wheel but don’t touch it while you are stopping. Does the car pull to one side while you are stopping?

If the car is a numbers matching (original engine, tranny, rear end) 67 coupe that runs good all around, has good interior, etc and all of the above things check out then I would personally pay maybe $5000 for it. If you know what you are shopping for, you can get a lot for $6000.

Q: 1967 mustangs for sale in texas?
restored less then 5,000 dolars

A: try ebay! seriously try ebay motors!

Q: Anyone know of a 1967 Shelby GT 500 ford mustang for sale?

A: check ebay.com, but watch out for fakes..

Q: do any of you know of an old 1967 shelby GT 500 mustang for sale? at least just the body, frame and engine?
ok ive been searching everywhere for a shelby GT its my favorite car and im willing to do work on it if its rusted or something i just want a cheap car thats not messed up too bad. so i can fix it and have my favorite car in the whole world lol. so i need your help can you help me?
i was accually thinking of an old one like rusted and everything so i can make it a project so i can work on it myself….not a full car lol mainly the body and partly an engine….i want to work on it not drive it til im done thats what im looking for. i found a body here in my town that was all rusted and stuff for $600 but the day i went to get it they sold it before i got there.

A: The chances of that happening is very slim, the type of money those things are worth when they are restored has everyone looking. If you are looking to something like this to drive on the street, get a regular 67 (if you can find it), and, put reproduction parts on it and turn it in to a Shelby.

Q: Is a 1967 Mustang coupe a good car?
I found a 1967 mustang coupe for sale for $4500. I was wondering if that is a good car? I love working on cars. granted I’m a devoted Chevy guy i still love the mustangs. I had a 1966 Chevy II 4 door sedan before and because I was stupid didn’t know what I was doing bought it not knowing it wasn’t a very like car. at least the 4 doors. so I don’t want to make that mistake again.

thank you all very much for answering.

A: You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here – carinsurance.deep-ice.com

Q: where can i find a 1967 ford mustang gt 500 eleanor for sale at a lower price?
the cheapest one i found was $125000 if any one knows were i can find one please reply

A: well that all depends on if you want a real ‘67 Shelby or a remake you can probably find a ‘67 fastback mustang and get the eleanor body kit for it and order a 428 cobra jet from ford and you will be on your way. however and all original Ford Shelby GT500KR can go for over 200k so its your choice

Q: 1967 mustang please read detalis?
hi, i found a 67 mustang for sale, the ad said that the gears of been changed out to a lower ratio for more power. it has been set up for racing. then the part i don’t understand, it said it has a bump shifter installed, i don’t know what this is? what is a bump shifter (the car is an automatic) please help

A: It means that the car is an automatic, but has a manual valve body installed in it. The valve body is a set of passages in the transmission that change the gears by releasing the clutch pack when hydraulic pressure passes through them. A “manual” valve body is just that- you have to engage a mechanical switch to change gears. Thats where the bump shifter fits in. The shifter should have a spring loaded, ratcheting type of action that will pull on a cable connected to the transmission. Push the shifter forward you upshift, backwards you downshift. A properly built automatic transmission with a manual valve body will shift faster than having a standard manual and thats why they’re popular in drag racing. If the car’s got lower gears and a bump shifter, it’s been raced and probably gotten the crap beaten out of it. You might wanna look for something else, something close to stock or all stock. A used car is already someone else’s problem.

Q: 1967 Mustang, should I buy?
I found a ‘67 V6 Mustang for sale for $4,500. Interior fully restored, all original, 107,000 miles, automatic, runs, and needs new paint, should I buy? Could it be a primary car for me to use and be reliable?

A: i would tell you no.
because of this:
the car will get bad gas mileage since its an older car, and gas prices will be getting more expensive.
i suggest getting a small compact car, you will be better off financially… but if you got free gas for the rest of your life, go for it!

Q: how to report what I think is possible fraud?
Not sure who to send this to so figured I’d start with you.

2weeks ago in the Niagara Gazette we called about an ad for a 1967 Mustang for sale by emailing the person. After two weeks of emailing back and forth, we are convinced this is a scam. The car was for only $4,000 and we could buy it by sending money through Yahoo! Finance. We’ve emailed back and forth and received lots of pictures (great looking car). We’ve asked him/her to call but came up with the reason that they were in Iraq last year and now couldn’t hear very well. We said we wanted the car so he/she said that Yahoo! Finance would contact us immediately. Well, they did the next day but in the “paperwork” they listed a 1998 Toyota as the deal. I wrote the person back and told them about that mistake and it was immediately corrected. Hmmm When I emailed yesterday to have him/her send a copy of the vehicle title, he/she couldn’t because it was already crated to be sent to us. (We went along with him/her too to see how far it would go.) The $4,000 included shipping costs too! Nobody sells a 1967 Mustang that looks perfect for $4,000. When they involved Yahoo! Finance in the “deal” I thought Yahoo should be notified but not sure how.

As the saying goes, “If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.”
Thanks for listening.

A: I went thru the same deal with a crook pretending he was going through a divorce and was selling a Lexus 330 for $6.000. All I had to do was to send him $2.000 deposit via an escrow account he was going to set up and the car will be delivered to me in 2 days. I made up an address and told him that I attached the money with my email so he could get it faster.
I never heard from him again.

Buyers beware!

Q: Where can I sell a 302 MO 68 CAMARO ENGINE?
I have a 302 MO 68 Camaro engine for sale, it has been covered for 20+ years. Looks in excellent condition. The pistons look new, like if its was never fired. I’m in Cincinnati OH.
Any suggestions?

A: have a garage sale

Q: I’m looking for a 68 or 69 Camaro to restore anyone out there have one? I’ve got a 86 Camaro for Sale.
I live in Central Oregon.

A: Hey Shannon, do you know you have a road race car (if it is an IROC) ? It can easily be converted to one if ya don’t. In 1986 we changed the cam to reduce the HP 30% for fuel economy . They will do .95 on the skid pad with “shaved gatorbacks”, .93 without and the 350 engine we came out with in 1987 ran with the late 60’s Camaros(check Hot Rod magazineOct, 1987 for stats) So why not go with what ya got?

Q: help looking for 68 or 69 Camaro project car?
im looking for a Camaro project car z28 or ss im hoping to find a 68 or 69 for sale ive been looking for 3 months but no luck in my area. im 13 looking into getting my first car but i want a muscle car to rebuild i have 2 years till i turn 16 and i hope i will drive one i live in new mexico. i know people look for years to find one but if you could just help out it would be greatly appreciated.

A: I know a fellow named Walter V. Ronk, goes by Walt that usually has cars that match what you are looking for. Give him a try at rammed88@yahoo.com and see if he can help.

Q: Should i take a chance at this 68′ camaro?
Hi to all…I just found a 1968 camaro for sale for about $3000…but here comes the problems…the car doesnt have engine or tranny. The interior needs alot of work and the whole car has rust and needs some work. Pretty much i would get only the chassis and body. And to all, the “owner” doesnt have the title and the car hasnt being registered for a long time.
Now, i love camaros…specially the 68-69 camaros. I always try to look for one around my budget but never find any since i am a student at a university. Still, i am planing on doing the fixing and the body work myself and even the engine work with a friend.
Is this car worth it?….If i plan to get it i know it would take me hella long time to restore it but is one of my dream to own a camaro….Finally, how much trouble would i be dealing with registration since the current owner doesnt have the title?
I live in Cali. and i find this cars which cost a lot of money for me…should i take a chance on this one??
Thanks 2 all..

A: The only way I would even consider 3000 for a 68 in the condition you describe is if it has something that makes it exceptional (like a Z28 or COPO package, or something equally rare). If its a basic run of the mill Camaro, you can find a clean one for that kind of money.

Q: 1974 ‘Cuda Project Value?
I just bought a project 1974 Plymouth ‘Cuda(performance package barracuda) and want to know what its worth.

To start, I dont have a title. The last titled owner is now in prison for who knows how long and his kids lost the title in a house fire. They sold the car to the guy I bought it from with a bill of sale. I recieved a bill of sale as well. I have checked and the car isnt stolen or anything, and was last registered in 2004, so everything appears to check out. I am working on getting a bonded title.

Condition-Pretty much everything there. except the rear valance. All glass is good and rolls up and down fine, the drivetrain is there and believed to the the original 318 and auto tranny, so probably numbers matching. Supposedly runs when the carb and distributor wires are put back on…There is a little rust in the trunk and in a few spots in the floors, but it wont need full floors, probably just footwell patches needed. Trunk is maybe saveable, maybe not. The interior isnt nice by any means, but it would be pretty decent with new carpet and front seat covers and headliner.

It needs some body work. Not too rusty of a car, but it was hit in the rear. Looks to have only damaged the tail panel and rear crossmember and that little filler panel in between them. I have a near perfect new back bumper with it. Also, the driver quarter will probably need a lower patch and the passenger will either need a skin or lower patch depending on how bad the dents are… Front passenger fender is perfect, and the driver would be if the softball sized dent was taken out of it. The hood may need replacing, as it is a little wrinkled but I think its possibly saveable. If not, I will go buy another one for $300. Its the snorkel hood. The doors are just about perfect, and the rockers, door jambs and all look great too. The firewall also shows not rust or damage, And the frame is all solid. The gas tank and fuel lines look to have been replaced.

Im trying to see my best option here. I am already working on a 68 camaro project and I bought this on a whim, because its my dream car(well close enough….71 is my favorite) Its a little more of a project then I am looking for, but I want to be smart about my choices. I can either sell now, or after I get the bonded title and maybe try to get it running and driving, and complete a little bit of the body work(not floors or rear accident, but I could have everything else on the body taken care of. What do I need to do? I want to use the money to finish restoring my camaro.
OH and it was last inspected in 02, which gives me reason to believe that mechanically and electrically it might be in pretty good shape. I payed $2500 and the guy was getting phone calls the entire time I was there from people trying to offer him more. Im in the dallas area by the way.

A: You gave too much for a damaged car with no title. You need to get one if possible. I expect it won’t be easy though as it has been resold a couple times illegally. I suggest calling the DMV for your state to see if securing a legal title is possible. A 1974 Barracuda with a 318 isn’t the most desirable vehicle. If you can bail out without spending more on it, you should be able to recover what you have invested.

Q: car buying help!!!!?
ok i was going to buy maybe a plymouth roadrunner in the future..maybe like 8-10 years..will they still be for sale?also when bbuying one what year is the best for them..also what engine is the best..i dont no anything about cars at all so plz help…my second choice is to get a camaro either the 67(http://www.automaniacs.com/67camaroresto/67camaro.htm),the 68 RS.(http://www.automaniacs.com/68camarors/68camaro.htm),
or the 69Z28(http://www.automaniacs.com/69camaroz28/69camaroz.htm)
also what year camaro is best and which engine is best….thanks a lot!!

A: Yes they will be for sale and this is a very good choice for a muscle car.

1970 was maybe the best year for Muscle Cars, MoPar (other like some others) didn`t lower the compression rates of 440-6bbl, 426 Hemi and 340 in 71.

There were no in-line six’s available on Road Runner! There were no small blocks neither, until in the middle of the 1971, when the 340 with 275 hp became an option. Standard engine was 383 cu.in. BIG BLOCK V8 with 4bbl carburetor.

Optional engines were 440-6bbl (Dodge called it Six-Pack) with 385 hp and 426 HEMI. It was last year the 426 HEMI was available.

There still was 425 hp. (In reality, at least 500!!!). Some other standard equipment: low-restricted dual exhausts, special hood with scoops, heavy-duty suspension, bench seat, floor-shift.

The horn went “BEEP-BEEP”, just like in cartoons. Wheelbase of 71 Roadrunner is 115″, overall length 203.2″ and with standard engine it weights 3640 lbs. In 71 Plymouth made 14.218 Road Runners. 55 of those were equipped with 426 HEMI.

In 1971 512 Hemis were made overall. After all, Roadrunner was a cheap and beautiful (and very fast) car, without too many external features. JUST POWER!

A: two web sites kbb.com and nada.com , give them a look and go from there.

Q: anyone interested in buying a 1988 ford ranger?
i have a 1988 ford ranger for sale its a GREAT runner it has low miles for the year its odometer is at 150,000 tops it needs VERY minamal work i have the part it needs…all it is is the ignition, you need to just put it in & go. price is firm at 500.00 BUT will lower it for the right buyer…. good intior, nice carpeting needs little cleaning. could use some gas…lol

Q: who’s got a 1984 ford ranger driveshaft for sale?

A: Check your local junkyard, otherwise go to what is, in my opinion, the best parts supplier, www.autopartswarehouse.com I am a mechanic, and purchase from them frequently. They usually have just about anything. hope this helps.

Q: Anyone Know where I can find just 1 2004 Ford Ranger Rim? For sale??

A: Here are some logical places to try, in order:

1) Local salvage yards..Rangers are a common truck so you should strike gold the first place you call. Also the cheapest way to go.
2) Ebay. Just make sure you are getting the right size…

3) Last resort.. a Ford dealer. Not cheap, but it will be brand new.

Hope this helped.

Q: 2002 FORD RANGER… well i have to type more here so it will let me post my question.?
there is a 2wd 2002 ford ranger for sale down the road from my house and the person wants 1,200 for it but i looked at inside and it’s really a dirty, it has a rip in the seat, 190,000 miles on it, and on the outside it has a good size dent in it, and the passenger door handle looked like it was falling off…. i just don’t think that the truck is worth 1,200 dollars….but i could be wrong….let me know if you think that the truck is worth 1,200 and in you don’t please tell me how much i should offer the person…THANK YOU.

A: run toto run

too many miles, not worth it

if they couldn’t be bothered to clean the inside, why would they bother to change the oil and take care of it?

Q: Is there anyone out there that has any Step Bars for a 2001-2008 Ford Ranger?(Please read details)?
Is there anyone out there that has any used factory chrome Step Bars for a 2001-2008 Ford Ranger for sale or know where I might be able to buy some? I already checked with two big salvage yards in my area and they didn’t have any. The after market Westin Step Bars are nice but they have a bend in them like all the rest. I like the straight look of the factory bars. And, I was also wondering, are the holes already drilled in the frame for the step bars or do you have to drill your own? My truck is a 2004 2WD XLT.

A: Not sure where you can get any. I put some step bars on my 06 F150 and yes the holes are already there. I would buy new to make sure you get all the hardware you need along with the diagram as to where the holes are. Mine were covered up my some black tape-like stuff. By the way the underside of the truck is black. I would have never known they were there. Very very easy and fast to install if you get them…

Q: why dont they sale the 4 full size door ford ranger here in the USA?
i no they do in mexico there is a guy up the road that has a 4 door ford ranger looks really nice and no its not an extend cab its 4 full size doors i no if they sold them here people would buy them this year is going to be the last year for the ford ranger but it will be comeing back so they say but it wont look the same well whoever can tell me gets 10 points thanks alot.

A: Okay, first of all, they’re not discontinuing the Ranger. Ford has been saying that they’re going to phase it out for the past 5 years, then they change their mind.

But, they don’t sell it because the cost vs. demand for that style of truck just isn’t there. It’s like that Blazer/S10 combo GM did a few years back which went over like a lead balloon.

Q: I have a 1978 ford ranger 351 cleavland engine for sale whats the best price i can get for it?

A: No 351 Cleveland in ‘78

1974 was last year of production for the Cleveland engines.

A Close Relative Based on the Cleveland was the 351M,,aka “351 Modified”.

The term Modified meaning VARIATION.

The 400M and the 351engime are “same”,,,like siblings.

the 351C and 351M /400M are more like Cousins

“Public Opinion” was Extremely Low on 351M/400M at their introduction,,and most of their life.

Theye were sorta of a Disappointment Performamnce -wise compared to actual 351C’s

In all truth & reality,,,the Ford MODIFIEDS are excellent engines for their intended applications.
Millions have more than proven themselves over gazillions of miles.

Value??

The Clevelands are TREASURES,,Classics,Collectors Items.
And priced accordingly

The Modifieds,,,,are sorta “dime a dozen”.
Very high production numbers,,and in production till recent history.
There’s an abundance of them,,,and a low demand.

The typical.average 351-M can be found for little as $250~300,,
a documentable Low Mileage one Might get $500~700.

Inordinately Low Priced engines in used market.
They go for less $$$ than the cost of basic parts to rebuild one.

Crazy,,and a shame,,,but there’s just sooo many out there filling a slow/low demand

Hope that helps,,,and Good Luck !

Q: Wheel Spacers for a 94-99 Ford Ranger 2WD?
I Have a set of wheel spacers for a 94- 99 ford ranger 2wd for sale. I am looking to sell?? anyone have any idea how or who i could sell them too… I ebay’d them twice… no hits

A: When you go to list these spacers, make sure to put the width and bolt pattern on the ad plus a good picture.
Good luck.

Q: Any info about the 2000 Ranger?
I’m looking at a 2000 ford ranger for sale and just wondering what people have to say about it. it’s a 4×4 and the xlt package. it has 162k miles on it.

what’s good, bad, likes, dislikes, performance, mpg, and whatever else about it. thanks everyone!

A: Good little trucks as someone said can be underpowered sometimes unless it has a 4.0

They last many miles however with 162,000 miles on it, unless you know the owner, are willing to pay for a mechanic to inspect, or getting it for cheap, I’d pass as 4×4 stuff easily breaks and can run the value of the truck if not mechanically inclined at times

Q: ford ranger?
does anybody no where i can get a ranger with or without a frame I would like an early model around 1983 to1987 if you have one that you would sale to me butit would have to be close to louisiana or be able to deliver to me for a fee obviosly

A: you should put a cammed up 302 in that sucker.

Q: I have a 92 Ford Ranger, but don’t know how much to sale it for?
I have a ford ranger it has some problems…..
it needs 3 tires replaced. it needs a new fresh air intake hose (which is $60 new at a ford dealership). It needs new brakes for the front which is $20 at auto zone and needs new roters for the front which is $40 at auto zone. the airconditioner and heater work but the knob was broken off. and the tailgate latch is broken and wont come down, I think it just need put back in. and there is some pareas on the top of the tailgate where the primer is showwing. ok that is all that is wrong with it but I did just put in a new starter new battery and battery connectors I also put in a flowmaster muffler and made it from a one exhaust to a duel exaughst. what should I sale it for?

A: Check the Kelly Blue Book recommended price.

http://www.kbb.com/

Q: I have a 1994 ford ranger, supercab 103,000 or so mile for sale in AZ?
it is a green color and we would like $5,500.00
let me know if your interested. it is well used and very loved.

A: Do those still catch fire without warning or did they find the problems?
